The Intelligent Transport Mission

The Intelligent Transport Missionwas set up in 2002 by the Ministry directorates responsible for transport, with the aim of pooling the resources available for implementing information and communication technologies under the framework of road safety policy, the application of regulations and the promotion of intermodality. Today the mission is part of the organisation chart of the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transport and Housing under the General Affairs and Strategy Department of the Directorate General of Transport Infrastructure and the Sea


Central government organisation

The development of ITS raises numerous questions pertaining to the different government bodies required to collaborate on certain subjects.



CETU (Centre for Tunnel Studies) a national technical department, was officially created on 31st December 1970 to provide the ministry with expertise in the techniques and methods for designing, building, maintaining, operating and ensuring the safety of tunnels.
